Sanya completes 120 thousand scoliosis screening in a month, and Fusalt brings an amazing speed of radiative scoliosis screening

According to the screening technology provider Forethought (Shanghai) Medical Technology Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “Forethought”) : Under the concerted efforts of 20 working personnel, only 25 working days after the screening program was launched, the screening work has been completed in 4 municipal districts of Haitang District, Jiyang District, Tianya District and Yazhou District, covering 167 schools (including urban, rural, special education schools, etc.) from grade 1 to Grade 3 high school students, and a total of 119,600 people have completed spinal screening.

20 minutes for a class spine screening
Compared with previous spinal screening, the highlight of the Sanya project is that it is the first nationwide screening tool to directly measure data such as Cobb Angle, thoraco-waist curvature and axial rotation Angle of the spine using a non-radiation standing position, and has achieved an amazing screening speed while ensuring screening accuracy.

In the past, traditional screening methods for scoliosis, such as physical examination, Adams forward bending test combined with scoliosis instrument, Moire measurement, and X-ray radiology, all had obvious drawbacks. They not only required for venues, but also were affected by the uneven technical level of doctors and the slow speed of reading films, which could not meet the screening demand of large population. Taking X-ray as an example, this method may have irreversible adverse effects on the growth and development of adolescents, and it is difficult to follow up and observe the situation of adolescent scoliosis.

In order to solve these problems, the technology provider of the Sanya project, Fussolt Medical, used a new equipment “spinal data acquisition and analysis system – 3D electronic spinal meter”. The system integrates innovative intelligent light sensing technology, accurate terrain scanning technology, multi-sensor information fusion technology in one, through gain control technology, and then the use of advanced digital twin technology, digital mapping of the spine, three-dimensional bionic image of the spine, and finally the shape of the spine fully displayed, 15 seconds to display the cobb Angle data of the screened person.

In addition, due to the simple operation of the device, only one person holds the measuring wheel, from the neck 7 to the waist 5, rolling once along the spine process, you can complete the measurement in 10 seconds. It not only avoids various injuries suffered by teenagers in the testing process, but also eliminates the need for screening equipment for the environment, and realizes convenient screening in any environment.

Zhang Jing, Chief Operating Officer of Forethought, said in an interview, “From the screening in Sanya, it usually takes us only about 10 to 15 minutes to screen a class of children. This speed is several times faster than traditional screening methods, and thus the screening can be completed without the need for teachers to adjust their class schedules.”

From Sanya to China
Prior to the Sanya Spine Screening Program, there was no government screening program in the country that used a radiation-free measurement tool that directly captured the Cobb angle. The first attempt in Sanya not only validated that this innovative technology could ensure that scoliosis screening could be completed in a safe and standardized manner for elementary and middle school students, but also confirmed Fusotec’s real-world screening speed, screening cost innovation, and effective expansion of healthcare resources, allowing more regions to receive consistent and accurate spine screening with the innovative technology. It also demonstrates the speed of screening, cost innovation and effective expansion of healthcare resources realized by FOSSOTEC in real-world conditions, enabling more youth in more regions to receive consistent and accurate spinal screenings with the help of the innovative technology.

According to Forethought, after completing the “debut” in Sanya, the enterprise will develop along two lines. On the one hand, Forethought will use Sanya as a base to accelerate the landing of scoliosis screening technology nationwide, helping more young people to get early access to the spine, so that young people with spinal problems can be intervened by medical means as soon as possible.

Today, Forethought has the “Sapling Spinal Detector “ which serves the family spine monitoring scenario, helping parents to obtain their children’s spine health indicators within a minute. For children screened from different angles, more rehabilitation training can be completed on its APP, and Forethought has innovatively designed a set of meta-universe rehabilitation exercises for children and adolescents who don’t like to insist on rehabilitation training, so that patients can enter the meta-universe for training by scanning with their cell phones. And the training process does not require any sensors, as long as the correct action in accordance with the model can be passed, to solve the problem of low patient compliance in the traditional rehabilitation training process. Next, Forethought will build an integrated service chain integrating scoliosis screening into education, diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation and monitoring, and promote the technology to the ground with the help of public welfare programs such as the “Spine of the Nation” guardianship project, so as to escort the spinal health of more children.
